Betsy and Luke's Wedding Q&A

Q: Why the Wild Animal Park?

We felt that the San Diego Wild Animal Park provided a unique and memorable location for a wedding that would provide for beautiful photography and a great experience for our guests. The Wild Animal Park is also a California non-profit organization, which places our wedding proceeds toward wildlife conservation and research, something we're both more than happy to contribute to.

Q: How should I dress?

Please dress comfortable, but ready for pictures. We're not requiring traditional formal dress for our wedding as we would like our guests to have the opportunity to enjoy the Park beforehand.

Q: How do I get to the event location?

Click here for directions to the San Diego Wild Animal Park.

Q: Where should I stay?

For our out-of-town guests, or those looking for a nice weekend getaway, the Wild Animal Park has recommended various local hotels (click here for details). Alternatively, you may use the Park's online Hotel Finder to find other options, or to stay closer to the water in San Diego.

Q: May I bring guests?

We are very limited on space at our wedding location, but we did our best to identify the guests of our guests as part of our invitation list. If we left someone off the list who you would like to attend, please let us know and we'll see how much space is left based on our existing RSVP's.

Q: Are children welcome?

We've attempted to ensure that those traveling with children, as well as children who are close family were included in the invitation list. Outside of those exceptions, due to very limited space, we would like to ask that you find a sitter for the event. Note that children under 2 are welcome regardless of the invitation (unless you're looking for a good excuse to find a sitter, in which case by all means!).

Q: How do I get in on the day of the event?

To get into the Park on the day of the event, simply visit the Guest Services desk outside the front entrance and let them know that you are a guest of the Dirrim-Freiler wedding. Please be absolutely sure to RSVP to ensure you are on the list. We won't be able to get anyone into the park who isn't on the list.

Q: What do I do about parking?

We are covering the parking for all guests on the day of the event. You may download and print your parking pass in either PDF or Microsoft Word formats.

Q: Can I change my RSVP status?

Yes. If your situation changes and you can or can't make it to our event, please revisit the RSVP page to change your status. Your wedding invite key (the link in your E-mail) will provide you with access.

Q: What can I do at the Wild Animal Park?

We're providing general admission for all of our guests the day of the event. You can use this time to experience their various animal exhibits. If you're looking for something more, the park has a number of unique special activities available to guests as well.

Q: What about wedding gifts?

Rather than household items (which we have most of already), we're providing two options which will help us both pay for our honeymoon and purchase items as we need them. Please visit our bridal registry page for more information regarding wedding gifts.

Q: How did you create this site?

This site was built from scratch to announce our wedding details and to allow our friends and family to RSVP in a unique and personal way. The site was designed and written entirely by Luke, and programmed by the Best Man, Neil White. And yes, it was a lot of work, we hope that you like it. (:
